In order to determine whether the design assumptions of the construction project have been met, a soil compaction test should be carried out. In contrast to traditional methods, the results are obtained immediately.
At the beginning of the test, the loose material shall be removed, the substrate shall be leveled with a plate, then a hole shall be made into which the arm with the radiation source shall be inserted. On the basis of the radiation, the density and humidity of the tested material is obtained. The thicker the ground, the less radiation reaches the receiver.
The unit is not harmful to the environment. The chemical composition and heterogeneity of the soil, as well as its structure and amount of water may influence the test results.
