We are provided with drilling equipment which enables to work in all ground-terrain conditions: from light manual sets through semi-mechanized to the fully mechanized sets placed on the trucks and caterpillar tracks enabling drilling to the depth more than 50 m below ground level.
Macroscopic analysis is performed immediately after each extraction of the drill bit from the boring. The aim of the test is to classify of the soil with regard to the type, condition and humidity. Basic physical properties such as plasticity are also pre-determined. As far as possible, genesis of the soil and its geological age are also referred.
Groundwater level measurements and observations of piezometric levels are also carried out in the framework of the drillings.
Samples for further detailed laboratory tests are taken from the characteristic geological layers. Depending on their purpose, different types of samples are collected: undisturbed samples NNS, samples with natural moisture NW or samples with natural granulation NU (new classification: A, B, C, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
