National Road No. 6 (DK 6) is located in the northern part of Poland, runs through the West Pomeranian and Pomeranian Voivodeships, leading from Łęgowo to the border with Germany in Kołbaskowo. The safety measures along the road body to protect against destructive water activities proved to be inadequate. Water flowing off the road surface, from the surface of the counter escarpment and filtering under the road body caused significant erosion damage in the form of erosion gutters of local landslides and started to rinse out the soil under the road surface. Due to the observed phenomena of active mass movements and potential threats to the existing escarpments, it was necessary to develop a project of repair and preventive works to prevent further landslides.
In order to avoid further exploitation problems in the future, INGEO Sp. z o. o. , commissioned by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, designed additional safeguards in the form of: regulation and raising of the bottom of the existing ditch and protection of its slopes by taking over surface waters in the crown of the counter escarpment, as well as execution of deep drainage in the form of drainage.
